IMPORTANT: That day I think their machines were down so it was cash only, thank goodness I always keep cash on me when traveling!
When we first arrived we wheeled all our luggage through the tall buildings in awe of how big Toronto was. Prior to arriving we had planned to go to this cafe because it was close by our airbnb (let’s not talk about…) and it seemed cute from the pictures. It was even better when we arrived in person Eeeee! The menu continued everything we liked and we had such a hard time deciding!
I’m super excited about this review because we loved everything! You have got to try this place!

This cafe already has three locations in Taiwan, and now it is in Toronto!

Presentation: 4.8/5
The plating and everything is so beautiful. The colours are so refreshing too! The one thing that bugged me was the serrated knifework on the mangos.

Health: 4.5/5
They have vegetarian-friendly dishes that sounded appealing to us too!
Everything we ate made us feel light and clean! It works really well in combination with the open, minimalistic and light feeling that the atsmophere provides as well! We’re not too sure about the sourcing of the ingredients but the ingredients were very fresh, especially the greens! I think I recall seeing them growing some of their own vegetables? (Can someone confirm with me!?)

Atmosphere/location: 4.8/5
This place is situated with a lot of other small stores or restaurants nearby! It is best to walk to as I’m not too sure where you would park. But with the convenient transit in Toronto it shouldn’t be a problem anyways! Very close walk to downtown!
The first thing that catches your eye when you walk in is the big wall full of luscious and beautiful plants! It immediately makes you smile and the location allows in lots of nice natural night. It is a simple and elegant kind of cafe.

Cost: 4.6/5
Since this is in Toronto we did keep in mind that the taxes are higher. But for the kinds of food we had and the ingredients in it, the price is really good! And technically we would’ve been really full with that big sandwich but we stuffed ourselves silly.

Apple Pear Italian Soda

It’s a light and refreshing bubbly drink! You taste more of the pear with a subtle hint of apple. Perfect for a hot day. (What I love is that there is no ice in this. Not only it means it won’t dilute the taste, you also got the most out of your money! Haha. Or that’s how I like to think of it as anyways ><).
Peach Calpis Slush

I am a lover of almost all things peach, but this drink really knocked it out of the ball park. The consistency of the slush is very consistent and smooth; there are no big and uneven pieces of ice. The flavour of the peach is strong but not very artificial tasting. Making me wonder if they added some real peach fruit juice in there as well?
Mango Waffle

I have to admit I wasn’t able to finish this as we ordered way too much. The mangoes are more of the harder type of mangos and was not super sweet, but it went well with the sweet mango ice cream. The waffle is nicely toasted, but wish there was more of a crisper outside!
Grilled Wasabi Chicken Sandwich

Can you tell just how MUCH we loved this dish by the amount of photos I took? I need to show you this baby from all angles. If you are coming in and only want to try one thing, this is it! The chicken is so succulent, juicy and tender.
At first we were a bit worried that the wasabi sauce would bring that usual wasabi type of heat that goes through your nose. And we were afraid that the wasabi would overpower the rest of the dish. But I think it was mixed with some mayo or cream sauce that something? Anyways, basically the wasabi sauce provided a unique flavour that opened up your appetite to we did not put our hands down for one second while eating this!
It’s nice it came with some leafy greens and grapefruit salad.

Charcoal Waffle

I don’t know how to describe the charcoal waffle taste, it’s not too heavily charcoal flavoured and I think it relied a bit too much on the black sesame ice cream for most of the flavour to keep eating it.

I wish I could’ve shown you guys the video we took in pouring the coffee!! (Yes I admit I got this because it sounded so different and cool!) Basically you place the cotton candy on top of the cup and you pour the coffee through it. It dissolves the cotton candy to add sweetness to the drink. There’s the bottle of milk as well! I was a bit bummed because I read that you would normally get a macaron with this, but they ran out that day so it was these biscuits instead.
I’m not a big coffee drinker, so unfortunately I’m not too sure how different it tasted but it seemed much stronger than the ones I’ve normally drank before. But I believe they use Indonesian Mandheling beans?
Service: 4.5/5
Service is average and pleasant, the servers knew their menu well. The food took a little while to come out, but once one dish came out the rest came out quite quickly.

Sorry for neglecting posts for a while. Been working away at my new job! Loving it.
