Day Before Justin Left

Justin’s leaving the nest to go down to Calgary! So Jacky and I spent his last day with him. Though technically he’s not going super far, but it was really nice to have him around or let’s be real here, it’s always nice to even have the option of knowing someone’s up for hanging out hehe ;p

I was really craving pho, so off to King Noodle House we go! I forgot what the guys ordered… probably some pho tai bo vien thing.

Someone introduced me here and I just fell in love with the place. The broth here is really good, like the simmered for many hours kind of broth! Not to mention the pricing is a lot cheaper than other pho places you go to but you get a lot of meat and ingredients! Definitely worth.

I got the Bun Bo Hue as usual. What can I say, it’s my go to! :3
Afterwards we went in search of the Rick and Morty wall!!! Hence the featured picture! Here it is again in case you wanted to see up-close haha.

Afterwards we headed back to the party at Justin’s place. Yummy food! Bun Rieu! Whoa the lighting is nice for this :3.

Went for a nice walk after in Griesbach with the puppy and played Settlers of Catan!

Miss you lots Justin :(. But super happy for you as you venture out to try and figure out where your interests lie.

Nomiya Memories

Today, I didn’t feel like going home for some reason. It was also dinnertime after work so I decided to go find something to eat. Problem is when I don’t specifically crave anything I spend forever wondering what to eat (I even pulled out my list of places to try out but I wasn’t in the mood for it).

But not long after driving, I found myself in front of Nomiya (the one by Ellerslie). If I had to compare, I think I liked the noodles at the Calgary Trail side more.

I came at the right time during their happy hour! It’s basically deals on some appetizers like chicken karaage.

I had a friend that used to work here and I’d make the excuse to come here as much as my wallet would allow (poor uni kid life). Plus I’d often suggest this place when my friends ask where to go to eat hehe.

That friend and I would go out to eat the bento boxes here, so as part of nostalgia I guess I ordered one! The karaage didn’t taste as good as it used to :'(.

If I had to try and pinpoint what I didn’t like about the chicken was that it was dry– like the chewy kind of dry.

I realized as I was slowly eating that it gets kind of lonely. So I attempted to talk to the sushi chef, inquiring about some of the fish he had in the display. Nope. He definitely didn’t want to talk never mind carry a conversation with me.

Luckily there was a cute waiter that would check up on me every so often?

Eventually do you know who kept me company for a bit? A nice mom that came by to drop food for her son working at Nomiya haha.

There was this one sushi chef that worked at Nomiya that I absolutely loved. He carried this warm smile and was just super friendly. And whenever I came by with my friend, he’ll make sure to give some nicer pieces or extra treats :). He’s like the grandpa I never had. So cute!

Before I left, the waiter gave me like 2 handfuls of the mikilta candy!! THAT made me super happy ahaha.

And just like that, there goes another day~

Just an average day.
