My Overall score: 4.1/5

Preston’s score: 4.1/5

Ordered:

  • Drip Coffee ($3.0)
  • Matcha Latte ($5.5)
  • Korean Fried Chicken + Waffles ($14.0)
  • Bulgogi Fries ($9.0)

Lovely Korean Cafe opened by dear Samuel Lee! So glad to be able to check this place out on it’s first day of opening. I have high hopes for this place!

Presentation:                    4.0/5

The usage of the board for the chicken and waffles definitely matches the theme of the cafe. Overall nice presentation, neat and beautiful. Preston said 4.2

Health:                                  3.8/5
The latte was not overly sweet or too fatty. The fries were not greasy or salty. I felt that everything had good balance. I love how everything is made from scratch by mama lee and I could taste the freshness of the veges used!

I got a chance to ask them and their coffee is direct trade coffee roasted locally from rogue wave coffee! 🙂

Judging from the menu so far, this would not provide the best options for vegans or vegetarians. But I have yet to try their evening menu so we’ll see! Preston said 3.8

Atmosphere/location: 4.3/5

This place is beautiful, perfect mood for a friends get-together. Relaxed but still fun. (Bring your camera!) I just wish it wasn’t so far south and with not much parking in the front. But it is next to Izakaya Tomo with some other fun stuff to do near it, so this would  be another place to add onto activities-to-do that day! (Really hoping it’ll open late! Would be perfect place to hang after work) Preston said 4.5

Cost:                                  4/5

From the cafes I have been to, I’d say this is quite pricier for the quantity you’re getting. But this place is a lot bigger and the atmosphere is nicer than some cafes. Preston said 4

Taste:                                4.5/5

Drip Coffee: Oops! Was too excited and forgot to take a picture. Preston said it was average.

Matcha Latte: I am a super big fan of matcha, the bitterness is what I love. This drink is not bitter at all and you still can taste the matcha flavour! I’m not an expert on lattes but this latte suits my taste with not too rich or creamy of a milk. A nice and light drink to enjoy through all kinds of weather.

Bulgogi Fries: Where do we even start?! This was our absolute favourite! The tomatoes and onions tasted fresh. The bulgolgi is juicy and so good! Their house sauce made it even better. A definite recommend!

“Just wished there was a bit more green onions on top” (As said by Preston)

Korean Fried Chicken + Waffles: Not bad, the chicken is juicy and tender, but it could have been fried a bit better and a more even consistency of sauce applied would’ve made it perfect. The main thing we have to say about this is wishing the waffle had more crunch or crisp to it. The soft pancake-like texture along with the soft fried chicken didn’t really work as a nice combination for us.

I am so sad that I cannot upload the video to show you how juicy the chicken was! This picture will have to do.

Service:                              3.7/5
The food came out bit slower than we anticipated since there were not as many people there. A bit more attention to detail and consistency could’ve went into the service a bit more, but it is the first day so I’m not expecting as much yet~ But overall friendly staff 🙂
